Passing The Numeracy Skills Test - Mark Patmore
The content of the book / resource
The book covers all the areas of numeracy needed to pass the Skills Test. It is clearly laid out and easy to follow. The book gives clear explanation of the structure of the tests. Its effectiveness in catering for its target audience
This title is a set of practice questions of the type that trainees will meet in the numeracy tests. It will provide extra practise especially in some of the more obscure arrears of numeracy such as box and whisker diagrams. The value to the user
Whilst this book provides practice questions and some teaching, including key points, it does not provide many worked examples of the practise questions, only the answers. Its capacity to support students and / or mentors
It will provide examples of all the types of questions that a trainee is likely to meet in the tests. Its particular strengths and any weaknesses
The content is clear and covers the range of skills needed. It could however have more worked examples of the practise questions.Readability, presentation and cost
The nature of this type of book makes the presentation rather dry. It is hard work trying all the practise questions. However practise makes perfect as it mentions in the text.Value for money
At £8.00 it provides some value for money as it is a book only likely to be used once.
