Commentary:

The report must have clear, supportive comments – unambiguous and focussed. They should be forthright in terms of giving the trainee a clear perspective of their ability and achievement to date. Positive comments should be made regarding future developments, linked to specific targets.

The report is an assessment against the Standards – all judgements must be made against the Standards, as should requirements for improvement.
Good practice should be identified and examples cited.
